💃 Appalachian Fair Dance Competition

Show off your moves and creativity at the Appalachian Fair Dance Competition held on the Museum Stage, August 28 at 7pm!
Open to dance companies and solo dancers of all ages — this is your time to shine on stage!

 

🗓️ Entry Information

• Deadline: Friday, August 14

• Entry Fee: $20 per entry (must accompany entry form)

• Where to Enter: Submit completed forms and payment to the Appalachian Fair Office.

• Incomplete or unpaid entries will not be accepted.

👯 Eligibility & Group Size

• Open to Dance Companies or Solo Dancers.

• Routines may include 1–20 members per performance.

• No age limit for participants.

🎶 Routine & Music Rules

1. Keep it Clean:
   All routines and music must maintain a family-friendly atmosphere.

   • No profanity

   • No racist or discriminatory content

   • No alcohol, drug, or lewd references
     Violations will result in disqualification.

2. Performance Time:

   • Each routine has a maximum of 10 minutes.

   • Acts exceeding 10 minutes will be disqualified.

   • An official timekeeper will be present.

3. Group Changes:

   • A routine may drop a member after entry but may not add anyone new from the original form.

4. Arrival Time:

   • All members must be present at least 15 minutes before setup or face automatic disqualification.

🔊 Sound & Lighting

• All contestants will use the sound and lighting equipment provided by the Appalachian Fair.

• A professional Sound Engineer will be on site to assist.

💿 Music Submission

• Each contestant/group must provide the Sound Engineer with two (2) copies of their music:

  • Accepted formats: New CD, flash drive, thumb drive, or jump drive

  • Clearly label with contestant/group name and song title

• ❗ IMPORTANT:
  Music cannot be played from a cell phone or personal device.
  If music is submitted on a personal device, the act will be disqualified.

🏆 Prizes

• 🥇 1st Place: $500

• 🥈 2nd Place: $250

• 🥉 3rd Place: $100
