Fairest of the Fair Pageant

Rules: 1) A $50 NON-REFUNDABLE ENTRY FEE is REQUIRED for each contestant. Contestants may be sponsored by a civic organization, business firm, or family member. Entry may be made by completing an entry form obtained from the fair office or downloaded from this website and delivered to the Appalachian Fair no later than August 7th. The number of contestants will be limited to 30. Refer to the entry form for the rehearsal schedule. 2) Contestant must have reached her 16th birthday, but not her 21st birthday on or before December 31st of the current year and must be a resident of Tennessee. An original birth certificate must be presented at the first rehearsal. 3) Contestants will be judged on beauty, poise, and personality. 4) Contest will be held on Monday, August 18th @ 7pm on the Museum Stage. The winner must be available to reign during the entire week of August 18-23, 2025 to assist at all pageant competitions as well as other events as requested by fair management. 5) Contestant cannot qualify if she has ever been married, had a child, competed in a prior TAF State Fair contest, or found guilty of a felony. She must be of good moral character, and is now, and has always been of the female gender. 6) The winner of the title 'Appalachian Fair's Fairest of the Fair' will receive a $2,500 scholarship award the following year upon crowning of the new 2026 winner. The winner will also represent the Appalachian Fair at the state contest in January of 2026.
