THE APPALACHIAN FAIR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO LIMIT THE NUMBER OF ENTRIES TO 30.
2019 Fairest of the Fair

A $50 NON-REFUNDABLE ENTRY FEE IS REQUIRED FOR EACH CONTESTANT. Contestant must be sponsored by a civic organization, business firm, or family member.
Contestant MUST have reached her 16th birthday, but not her 21st birthday on/or before December 31st of the year in which the contest is held and must be a resident of Tennessee. Original birth certificate must be presented at the first rehearsal.
Contestant cannot qualify if she has ever been married, had a child, competed in the last state contest, or found guilty of a felony. She must be of good moral character, and is now, and has always been, a female.
Contestant must wear formal floor length attire. The dress may be two-piece but cannot be a wrap skirt worn over a bodysuit. Midriff may be exposed but bralettes are not appropriate. Be mindful of the age group of 16 thru 20 and dress accordingly.
Contestants will be judged on beauty, poise, and personality.
Entry may be made by completing an entry form obtained from the Appalachian Fair office, downloaded from this website, by calling 423.477.3211, or through email request to: . The form should be returned to the Fair Office on or before AUGUST 12th with a $50 non-refundable entry fee. Form may be returned to the Appalachian Fair by mail: PO Box 8218, Gray, TN 37615; by fax: 423.477.3853; emailed: ; or delivered to the Fair Office at 100 Lakeview Street, Gray, TN 37615. If faxed or emailed, the $50 fee must be paid by credit card. Please call the Fair Office at 423.477.3211 to request an online payable invoice via email. The Appalachian Fair reserves the right to limit the number of contestants to 30, however, no entries or fees will be accepted after August 12th. Checks should be made payable to the Appalachian Fair. All major credit cards are accepted.
Contest will be held at the Appalachian Fair on Monday night, August 23rd, at 7:30pm on the Museum Stage. Contestant must be available to reign during the entire week of August 23rd-28th, 2021. If the winner of the Appalachian Fair Pageant wins another title during her reign that prevents her from wearing the Appalachian Fair crown and sash, she must relinquish her crown and scholarship.
In consideration of accepting this entry the contestant and her family must waive and release any and all claims for personal injury or property damage, of whatever form and nature against the Appalachian Fair, the pageant director, a representative(s) of above, or any named sponsor, that may arise from participation in this contest.
Other rules apply as set forth by the TN Association of Fairs Pageant Committee regarding the TN Association of Fairs Fairest of the Fair Winner.
The young lady who receives the title of Appalachian Fair's Fairest of the Fair will receive a $2,500 scholarship award the following year upon crowning the new 2022 Fairest of the Fair. Proof of school registration must be submitted to the Appalachian Fair office. The Fairest of the Fair will represent the Appalachian Fair in Tennessee's Fairest of the Fair contest in Murfreesboro in January 2022. The Appalachian Fair will pay the incurred travel expenses of the queen and her chaperone to the contest.
The winner of the state contest will receive the title of 'Tennessee's Fairest of the Fair' and such prizes as approved by the Tennessee Association of Fairs.

August 12th - 6pm - Orientation (Bring your high heels) **Pictures for the Newspaper will be taken**
August 19th - 6pm - Full Practice & Rehearsal
August 22nd - 2pm - Interviews (Gray United Methodist Church)
**It is very important that you attend all rehearsals since we are only scheduling two practices. If an emergency situation occurs contact the Fair Office or the Pageant Director. A written excuse must be presented to the Pageant Director and signed by a Parent or Guardian.
