| 1. To facilitate
entry, please see Exhibitor's information. 2. Exhibits may be removed Tuesday, August 28th between 3:00 and 6:00p.m. Exhibitors will forfeit premium awarded on any exhibit removed before time stated. Items not picked up within 30 days become the property of the Appalachian Fair. EXCEPTION: Animals may be taken home immediately following the Junior Show. However, if animal is to be entered in the Oen Show, the regular entry fee will be charged and the animal must remain for the entire show. 3. All articles and animals must be entered and exhibited in the name of the bona fide owner, and by number, at the risk of the owner. No premium money or ribbons will be awarded on articles or animals not listed in premium books 4. Exhibitors please refer to department for schedule of premium payments. Checks not picked up will be mailed. 5. All livestock must have a legible tattoo or flock identification number attached to the ear. Such tattoo is subject to be checkd by the livestock deartment of the Fair and/or a representative of the particular breed in question. 6. Exhibitors of livestock will be required to notify the Fair Office of the deartment as to the number an breed of livestock to be exhibited; such notice will be given prior to August 5. Stabling of livestock cannot be guaranteed unless request is received. 7. At the conclusion of the Fair, the exhibitor must claim his exhibit and supervise its removal. No exhibit my be removed without delivering the proper claim ticket. Exvery exhibit must remain intact until the specified release time. LIABILITY 8. All property of every character, whether entered for exhibition, display or sale, or any other purpose, will be taken into the grounds and buildings, and kept entirely at risk of the owner, who assumes all responsbility for any loss, damage, theft, or accident that may occur. Neither the Fair Association, its officers or agents, will be responsible for any loss, damage or theft, and it is distinctly understood that exhibitors, concessionaires and all other persons, firms or corporations having property on the grounds and desiring protection from such loss or damage must make their own arrangements therefor. 9. Protests: All protests will be determined by the Executive Committee, and must be made in writing and filed with the Secretary immediately after the Judge's decision, and accompanied by an affidavit and a deposit of $25.00, which will be forfeited to the Fair Association in the event the protest is not sustained. 10. Any person who violates any of the general or special rules, as published in the catalog, will forfeit all privileges and premiums won and be subject to such penalty as the Board of Directors may order. Gailure to comply with these rules and regulations will cause forfeiture of premiums and privileges and wil be considered sufficiet cause to bar said exhibitor or concessionaire from future participation in the Fair. 11. The Secretary-Manager of the Association shall have supervision and control of all exhibits and exhibitions during the Fair, whether in the buildings, arena or grounds, and reserves the right to prescribe the dimensions and regulate the position of all signs, control the distribution of advertising matter and direct the arrangement of articles on exhibiion so far asa same may be necessary to secure harmony and attractive appearance. All instructions shall come from him through authorized officials. 12. The fair reserves the right to refuse to display any item considered unsuitable for fair exhibit. 13. Judges and Awards: The right is reserved to withhold the izes awarded in every case in which it shall appear to the Association that the regulations have not been complied with, or that fraud or deception has been attempted or where the article or animal is not worthy, and its decision shall be final and binding on all parties. 14. Judges are especially instructed not to award premiums to any animal or article because of its presence. It must be individually worthy. It is not the policy of the Association to ecourage indifferent production of any kind, or to distribute premiums equally among exhibitors, and no premium shall be awarded to any animal or article that does not possess high intrinsic merit. 15. Livestock exhibitors MUST keep their space clean and orderly. Also, the aisle ways MUST be kept open. 16. Chairperson of Departments: Each Chairperson of a department will have the arrangement and supervision of all articles and animals in their department and be resonsible to the Board of Directors. Each Chairperson will see that none bu Judges on duty and officers of the Association are allowed inside the areana while the exhibition is going on. Each Chairperson will afford the Judges every facility for examination, affix the ribbons, and when the Judges are not on duty take charge of the lists. Each Chairperson is expected to exercise great care in preserving and returning the list of awards, and upon no other authority can premiums be paid. 17. Privilege and Concession People: All Privlege and Concession People, together with their employees, assistants and helpers, must obey the Rules, or any other Special Regulations of the Association, as they may be notified, and any refusal or neglect to do so will forfeit any rights they my have had byvirtue of such privlefe or concessions. This Association reserves the right to refund in whole or in part money paid for privilege or concessions and refuse to allow any party, or article to operate or do busness should they or it become objectionable. 18. All property, fixtures, merchndise, etc., the property of privilege or concession people, will be taken in the Grounds at their own risk and kept in such places as the Fair Association designates, and the Association will not be responsible for any loss, damage, theft or failure to perform its part of contract, should officers of the law seize, stop or prevent the party from operating or doing business on the Grounds of this Association. 19. Special rules governing each department are in addition to the general rules and are listed at the beginning of each department. 2o. Competition ope to the world, unless otherwise stated. 21. The Solicitation of Funds of the Distribution of handbills, political literature, religious pamphlets, or any type of promotional material is prohibited on fair property, except advertising material handed out from within rented space. No sale of items of any type allowed on fair property except from the rented areas approved by the Secretary-Manager. No solicitation of Funds within rented area unless approved by the Secretary-Manager. No posting of signs or advertising material will be allowed on the buildings, fences or grounds unless approved in writing by management. 22. Animals are not permitted on grounds, unless they are part of an authorized show or exhibit. Guide dogs for the disabled are the only exception. 23. Absolutely no Alcoholic Beverages Permitted. 24. ALL PREMIUM CHECKS MUST BE CASHED WITHIN THIRTY DAYS. 25. The Appalachian Fair will not be resonsible for printing errors in the premium book. |
