Entries in the Canned Goods Department must be made on
SATURDAY, AUGUST 13, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. ONE DAY ONLY!

 
ENTRY REMOVAL Tuesday, August 30, 3 - 6 p.m.
Adhere to this take out time only.

 
ENTRY MUST BE MADE by filling out entry form (in center of catalog) and returning to the Appalachian Fair, P.O. Box 8218, Gray TN 37615 by Aug 5. If possible, for 20 or more items, entry tags can be picked up in advance for your convenience in tagging items before bringing to the fairgrounds on entry day.


SPECIAL RULES:
1. All exhibits must be in clean, heat-treated, standard canning jars with new lids and rings. Rusty lids, peanut butter, mayonnaise and pickle jars will not be accepted.
2. An exhibitor may make only one entry in each lot. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to properly select the lot for entry of an article. For information call 477-3211.
3. Articles that have been entered in previous exhibitions of this Fair are not eligible.
4. All entries must be made in the name of the producer.
5. The Fair Association reserves the right to disqualify ALL entries of any person interfering with the judge, clerks, or placing of ribbons.
6. No hot or warm jars will be accepted.
7. Evidence of a commercial pack will be disqualified.
8. Evidence of store bought fruit will be disqualified.
9. Must pass proper test for seal used.
10.Please identify entries in lots listed as any other.
11. Premium checks will be handed out or mailed.
12. All premium money will be paid from the awards as marked by the judges and not from ribbons that may be attached to the exhibits. Judges are instructed not to award a premium or premiums unless article or articles are deemed worthy of the placing awarded.
13. Refer to General Rules and Regulations in this book applying to all departments.
